Permitting Process
Each county in Texas has its own process for permitting.
It is important to know that EVERY county requires a septic permit that is designed by an engineer and installed by a licensed installer.
We coordinate this process for you.

What A&R Construction Does for you
- We work with you and the engineer to come up with the design that is right for your home.
- We listen to your needs for your project. It is easier to plan for the future now, so please share with us the full plan for your property, and we can help design a system that will meet your needs now and in the future.
- We review the engineer's design and give our best recommendation for the installation of your system.
- We gather and prepare all the paperwork necessary to submit for the permit.
- That paperwork is presented to you for final decisions and signatures and then submitted to the county.
What Documents do I need to provide?
- Warranty Deed - Shows ownership of the land and is filed with the county.
- Site Survey - legal dimensions of the property
- Site Plan - Showing all existing building, new buildings and any future buildings
- Floor plan - Listing # of Bedrooms, # of Bathrooms, Living Areas, kitchens, Laundry, etc.
- Cost of Construction - Building construction, does not include cost of the land.
- Affidavit - If you are installing an aerobic system you will need an affidavit stating that you know you will need a maintance contract on your aerobic system.
- Monitoring Agreement - All of our aerobic installations come with a two year maintance and monitoring contract.
Why do I need a Permit?
Texas Commission on Environmental Quality sets the requirements for permitting your On-Site-Sewage Facility (OSSF)
Please note that A&R Construction is NOT an engineering firm. We work with engineers for your design.
We will submit the permit, but each county has their own timeline for review and permitting issuance.
